Following the release of Balan Wonderworld, Square Enix has issued a warning to all players about a bug in the game that could potentially trigger photo-sensitive epilepsy.
As highlighted by YouTuber Bigdaddyjende, the bug occurs during the final boss battle, and appears as a bright white flashing light with strobe effects. According to Square Enix, this effect was not intentional and is actually fixed by downloading the game’s day one patch.
Indeed, other players who completed the same boss battle did not encounter this issue, presumably because they patched the game beforehand. Players who own the physical version of Balan Wonderworld would therefore be advised to download the patch as soon as possible to avoid encountering this potentially harmful bug.
