EEDAR has published on a new study comparing the demographics of Nintendo Switch owners at launch two years ago and the demographics of Nintendo Switch owners by the end of 2018.

According to the study, in Q2 2017, males made up 70% of Nintendo Switch owners in North America, while females made up 30%. By Q4 2018, the ratio has balanced itself to 50% male and 50% female, which shows women are starting to gain interest in Nintendo Switch. This is in line with PS4 and Xbox One.

Nintendo Switch owners are also becoming younger. When the system first launched, most owners were in their mid twenties to mid thirties. There are now more younger people and older people playing the Switch, suggesting that most younger and older people were not early adopters.
