The Super Mario Bros. Movie has crossed yet another massive milestone during its time in theaters.
According to Collider the Super Mario Bros. Movie has crossed $1.288 billion in earnings worldwide, finally surpassing the original Frozen to become the second highest grossing animated film of all time. This is a monumental achievement, given that Frozen’s record earnings of $1.276 billion has stood for over a decade, surpassed only by its sequel Frozen 2 at $1.45 billion.
With the film exiting theaters soon, it seems unlikely that the Mario Bros will be able to smash Frozen 2’s record. We will be sure to report back with another update if it does.
