Nintendo recently published their latest financial results briefing  the second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2024, revealing that Super Mario Bros. Wonder has crossed a major sales milestone.

According to Nintendo’s data, Super Mario Bros. Wonder sold 4.3 million copies within its first two weeks on the market. This astonishing figure has made it the new fastest selling Mario game of all time, with the caveat that this only includes data for games released for the Wii and DS onwards, which is when Nintendo began tracking software sales.

Nintendo attributes the success of Super Mario Bros. Wonder to its “surprising new 2D Mario experiences” as well as the hype from the Super Mario Bros. Movie that was released earlier in the year. The developer also believes that the game will continue to “sell consistently over a long period of time”, throughout the holiday season and next year.
