Today we have an interesting piece of news regarding Super Mario Maker 2 that Nintendo didn’t really talk about.
It seems Super Mario Maker 2 will support up to two players, at least when you play different levels. There are two pieces of evidence that point to this.
First, Super Mario Maker 2’s official key artwork and boxart feature both Mario and Luigi, symbolizing two players enjoying the game:
Besides this, we spotted an icon representing two players (red and green) when editing a level. This icon, when toggled, probably sets the number of players allowed to play the level. Here is the icon in question:
It is unclear how multiplayer exactly works, so we will have to wait and see.
