Super Mario Movie Will Have Something For Longtime Fans And Newcomers
In a recent interview with IGN, Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime briefly commented on how the Super Mario movie is going to be like.
Earlier this year, it was reported that a deal has been struck between Illumination and Nintendo to make a Super Mario movie. Reggie says that conversations are currently ongoing between both companies, with legendary game developer Shigeru Miyamoto spearheading them.
Nintendo is planning to make the Super Mario movie something that both longtime fans and newcomers can enjoy. “Certainly our focus from a Nintendo perspective as well as working with such an accomplished partner like Illumination is to make sure that what is created is something both fans will love as well as it will be a great introduction to folks who are not as familiar with the world of Mario,” says Reggie.
Reggie also revealed that Nintendo is actively discussing with other companies in the entertainment sphere on potential partnerships similar to what Nintendo is doing with Universal Studios and Illumination. These partnerships will be announced to the public when they are ready to be shown.
