Super Mario Odyssey New VR Content Can Be Played Without The Labo VR Kit
The official Japanese account for Super Mario Odyssey has confirmed that the new upcoming VR mode (releasing on April 25th 201) will not require the Nintendo Labo VR kit to be played!
The VR kit will just be an option for a full 360 ° view and anyone who owns Super Mario Odyssey will be able to try the new content that comes in this update!

The tweet roughly translates to:
