Famitsu has shared the latest sales data in Japan for the week of March 31 to April 6, 2025, revealing some interesting trends.
To everyone’s surprise, the bestselling game of last week was none other than Super Mario Party Jamboree. It was the 5th bestseller two weeks ago and jumped to 1st place last week at 11,487 units sold, beating PlayStation 5’s Monster Hunter Worlds by almost 500 units.
The surge could have been caused by the reveal of Super Mario Party Jamboree: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, which will launch in July 2025.
Xenoblade Chronicles X, which was the No. 1 bestseller two weeks prior, dropped to third place at 8,565 units. It has sold 97,655 units since its launch in March according to Famitsu data.
Nintendo Switch hardware sales continue to dominate the charts despite the Switch 2 announcement, with 35,041 units sold across all members of the Nintendo Switch family of systems.
