Nintendo has revealed the release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 Gamecube Controller.

This announcement was shared on the Nintendo Today App, revealing that controller will be available for purchase to Switch online subscribers from May 13th 2025. Those who were invited to pre-order by Nintendo will get to buy it a bit earlier from May 8th 2025.

As stated, this modern Nintendo GameCube controller is only compatible with the Switch 2. In addition, it is reportedly not guaranteed to work properly with non-Gamecube titles. Be sure to keep this in mind before ordering one.
