Switch Worldwide Sales Cross 139.36 Million, Super Mario RPG Remake Surpasses Original’s Lifetime Sales
Nintendo has published their latest earnings report for the nine months ending December 31st 2023, revealing some updated sales numbers for their hardware and software.
According to their report, the Switch has sold around 139.36 million units worldwide as of that date including the base model, Switch Lite, and OLED models. On the software side, sales have reached 1.200 billion units.

- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 60.58 million
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 44.79 million
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 33.67 million
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 31.61 million
- Super Mario Odyssey – 27.65 million
- Pokemon Sword / Pokemon Shield – 26.17 million
- Pokemon Scarlet / Pokemon Violet – 24.36 million
- Super Mario Party – 20.34 million
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – 20.28 million
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – 17.20 million
Aside from the Top 10, Nintendo also released new sales figures for a number of other major titles, including the first official sales figures for Super Mario Bros. Wonder and the Super Mario RPG Switch remake. Most notably, the Super Mario RPG Switch remake has already outsold the original SNES version’s lifetime sales of 2.14 million, achieving this in a mere six weeks since launch.
