Level-5 CEO: Creation of Layton and Why it Remains Successful
In an interview with Glixel, Level-5 CEO, Akihiro Hino spoke about how the idea of Professor Layton come about. Speaking with them, Akihiro said that Level-5 was inspired by the popularity of brainteaser/brain-exercising games available back then, which included a “Brain Exercise” game on the DS. However, Akihiro did not just want to make another “Brain Exercise” game and decided to switch the formula up a bit.
Fire Emblem Warriors will support dual audio, more character details
The Nintendo Switch version of Fire Emblem Warriors was playable at Nintendo’s booth at France’s Japan Expo. The playable demo at Japan Expo is a different build from the one at E3, as new characters such as Robin, Lucina, and Lissa were playable.
3DS will continue to grow with Switch alongside it
In an interview with Paste, Nintendo Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing Doug Bowser explained the 3DS consoles’ presence next to the fast growing Nintendo powerhouse, the Nintendo Switch.

New Layton’s Mystery Journey trailer released
While the West will not see LAYTON’S MYSTERY JOURNEY: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy on the 3DS until Fall 2017, Level 5 is releasing the English version on mobile this month. The new Layton Series youtube channel has therefore released an English dubbed trailer for players in the West.
