Layton’s Mystery Journey now out on mobile, scheduled for Western 3DS by October
The Layton Detective Agency has opened for business around the world with the largest amount of puzzles of any Layton series today on iOS and Android first. According to Level-5 press release, the much-hyped continuation of the Layton Series, Layton’s’ Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy will also be released in the West for Nintendo 3DS “as soon as October”
Pricing for Layton’s Mystery Journey differs between 3DS and mobile, but justified
In an interview with MCV UK, Level-5’s Director of Games Marketing, Lucy Pozniak, has commented that though the pricing structure of the mobile version of Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire’s Conspiracy will differ from the 3DS’s version, the pricing for both games will be justified.
Level-5 CEO: Creation of Layton and Why it Remains Successful
In an interview with Glixel, Level-5 CEO, Akihiro Hino spoke about how the idea of Professor Layton come about. Speaking with them, Akihiro said that Level-5 was inspired by the popularity of brainteaser/brain-exercising games available back then, which included a “Brain Exercise” game on the DS. However, Akihiro did not just want to make another “Brain Exercise” game and decided to switch the formula up a bit.

In an interview with Nintendo Life, President and CEO of Level-5, Akihiro Hino commented that he enjoyed working on the previous Professor Layton Movie and that they are looking into working on another one.

Level 5 has just released a variety of Promotional stuff for their upcoming game Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy, including a video featuring PIKOTARO – the artist who was behind the viral video PPAP.
Katrielle Layton to arrive later in Fall on the 3DS
In a PR note, Level-5 acknowledged that Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy on the 3DS will not ship together with its mobile counterpart and will only arrive in Fall 2017. Looks like the fine gentleman has forgotten to teach his daughter to be on time.
