Talking Grimer Recycling Bin Set Up Near Pokemon Center Mega Tokyo In Japan

It looks like the sludge Pokemon Grimer is now helping Japanese folks to recycle responsibly!

The Pokemon Company has teamed up with Coca-Cola Japan and IBM Japan to set up a new Grimer recycling bin, which will stay near Pokemon Center Mega Tokyo at Ikebukuro’s Sunshine Plaza until the end of today. There’s more to this bin than meets the eye, however – as inserting either a PET bottle, empty can, or empty bottle will make the Grimer speak with different voice clips!

Check out some videos of the bin in action below, courtesy of Twitter use @souhekino_fabo

According to an official website for the initiative over here, it looks like The Pokemon Company will also be deploying more of these bins in other cities eventually. We’ll report back if we hear more interesting developments about these unique bins in the future!
