Today we have more interesting things to share with you about Tencent and Nintendo’s partnership to bring the Nintendo Switch officially to mainland China.

According to a Wall Street Journal report, both Tencent and Nintendo are cautious about the Chinese market. Unnamed Tencent officials told Wall Street Journal that they didn’t believe the Nintendo Switch would sell as well as the US and Japan in China, as Chinese players tend to game on smartphones and PC.

That said, Tencent signed a deal with Nintendo promising they would sell at least a few million Nintendo Switch consoles in China in its entire lifecycle. We will have to wait and see whether they would be able to achieve that goal. In 3 years, the PlayStation 4 sold close to 1.5 million units in China, so it might be possible.
