The 3DS/Wii U Software Discounts Section Has Been Removed From My Nintendo

As most Nintendo fans will know by now, My Nintendo is an online service that allows 3DS/Wii U/Switch/mobile owners to earn “coins” that can be exchanged for various in-game rewards. These included price cuts for older games on the 3DS/Wii U – although that no longer seems to the case, any longer.

As noted by Nintendo Wire, the ‘rewards’ section of My Nintendo no longer lists “Nintendo 3DS/Wii U software discounts” as redeemable items. This leaves 3DS owners with only a few rewards such as some themes and My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess – which are listed under “Nintendo 3DS/Wii U software/digital content”

This appears to be a move from Nintendo to phase out support for the two older systems, especially with the Nintendo Switch now headlining the company. Additionally, My Nintendo has been offering more physical rewards to users over the past few months instead – which harkens back to the retired Club Nintendo service from years ago.

What do you think? Are you sad to see these discounts go? Are you hoping to see something else replace them? Feel free to share below!
