Today we have some interesting news about early review copies for Pokemon Sword and Shield in Australia and New Zealand.
As you all might know, Nintendo usually hands out review copies to selected members of the media a few weeks before a game’s official release date. It seems that that isn’t going to happen with Pokemon Sword and Shield in Australia and New Zealand.
Australian website Stevivor has confirmed that they aren’t receiving any early review copies for Pokemon Sword and Shield. A representative from Nintendo Australia and New Zealand also confirmed that no one else in the region is getting any early review copies, so they will have to wait until November 15 to start reviewing the game.
It’s unknown whether this policy is in place in other regions such as Europe and the Americas, so we will have to wait and see. This might be a safety precaution on Nintendo Australia and New Zealand’s part to prevent further leaks from happening.
