The Pokemon Company has scored another win in its ongoing battle against knock-off Pokemon titles originating from China.
As reported by Automaton-Media, The Pokemon Company has settled a lawsuit against the creators of Pocket Monster: Remake, referred to in a previous report as Pocket Monster Reissue. It is a mobile game that fragrantly uses character and Pokemon designs without any official backing by The Pokemon Company.
At the time of the previous report, several of the companies involved tried to file an appeal, but it seems this has all been settled as of February 19th 2025. The ruling is still in favor of The Pokemon Company, who reached a mediated settlement with the companies involved for a “huge sum”. The companies have also been ordered to issue apologies in Chinese newspapers as well as online media outlets.
