After breaking records with its premier, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has gone on to smash even more over its opening weekend.

As reported by Deadline, the film has crossed over $372.5 Million in earnings worldwide, with $190 million domestically in the US combined with $182.4 million from the rest of the world. This is the biggest worldwide film debut since Avatar: Fire and Ash back in December. Furthermore, the overseas earnings for the film are currently the biggest foreign box office opening for a Hollywood movie in 2026, and the second best international debut for a Hollywood movie of all time, just behind the original Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Other records the film has broken are as follows:

• Only animated franchise to have two titles open over $350M globally.
• Fifth biggest global opening ever for an animated film and the fourth biggest MPA animated opening of all time.
• Second highest global opening for Illumination of all time behind only The Super Mario Bros. Movie
• Second biggest global opening for a film based on a video game behind only The Super Mario Bros. Movie
• Fifth biggest global opening for a Universal film of all time behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie
