There’s Another Way To Trigger A Blood Moon In The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

If you’ve played The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you’d have probably already experienced a Blood Moon, an event which respawns enemies at in-game midnight after Link has killed too many enemies.

Besides killing lots of enemies to trigger a Blood Moon, hackers and dataminers have discovered a second way to trigger a Blood Moon, an event which they call “Panic Blood Moon”. According to ZeldaMods, a Panic Blood Moon is triggered when the game is running out of memory or it is taking too long to execute a task.

Similar to a normal Blood Moon, enemies will respawn after a Panic Blood Moon is called. Keep in mind that a Panic Blood Moon could only be triggered if all of the following conditions are false:

  • the player is in a dungeon, AocField, GameTestField, GameTestField2, or any debug or dev map
  • the Fade screen (loading screen) is opened
  • some EventMgr check returns false[check]
  • there is an active event
  • the player actor does not exist
  • the player is more than 0.25 distance units away from his save position (game data flag: PlayerSavePos)
