This Could Be The Reason Why September 2019 Is A Really Packed Month For Nintendo Switch

If you are feeling overwhelmed by the number of major titles that are launching this month for Nintendo Switch, you are not alone.

In September 2019, many major first party and third party games are set to launch on Nintendo Switch. These include Daemon X Machina, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Ni no Kuni, Atelier Ryza, and Dragon Quest XI S.

As September is a relatively quiet month in the last few years, this might seem unusual to you. But if you take a look at Japan, the reason becomes clear.

From October 1, 2019, the Japanese government will increase the sales tax from 8% to 10%. Each time the sales tax was increased was followed by less spending in the economy. As a result, many game companies are trying to “cash in” before the sales tax is raised which might negatively affect sales.
