Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Will Restrict Image Sharing Features

Nintendo has announced there will be restrictions on sharing features for Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream.

These restrictions are primarily related to “certain image sharing features”, and are being done out of concern that “out-of-context scenes may be misunderstood or may not reflect the spirit in which the game is intended to be enjoyed”. The Japanese website clarifies that this means “transferring images to smartphones, posting directly to social media, and automatically uploading images” will not be available, although they can still be shared via GameChat.

While not explicitly stated, it is likely that these measures are being done due to the greater amount of freedom players have in the game compared to the first Tomodachi Life when it comes to customizing their Miis, the things they say, as well as who they interact with on the island. In less than careful hands, these may lead to uncomfortable situations, especially if the Miis are based on real-life individuals.
