Hi. I was thinking of purchasing via amazon jp but was worried about warranty. Do you have any advise?
Unfortunately Nintendo only does warranty for the place of purchase, meaning if anything goes wrong with your purchase on Amazon Japan, only Nintendo authorised service partners in Japan will honour the warranty. It really depends if the Nintendo Switch is really cheaper and abundant on Amazon Japan than your home country to tell if it is worth it.
