Universal Studios Japan has officially announced that the opening of Super Nintendo World Japan has been postponed to a later date.
This news comes shortly after the CEO of Comcast, the owners of the Universal Parks, confirmed in an interview that they were planning to delay openings of various parks across the globe due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation, including in Japan. Super Nintendo World had originally been planned to open in Summer 2020 to coincide with the Olympics, another event which has similarly been affected.
According to the press release issued by Universal Studios Japan, they are expecting the park to begin operations later on in Autumn this year. That said, depending on how the Coronavirus situation develops the park’s opening may be further delayed till 2021.
We will be sure to bring more updates on the situation as they come.
