Today we have some very interesting news to share with you about VTubers, also known as Virtual Youtubers, in Japan.
Apparently there’s a group of Virtual Youtubers called NIJISANJI that have become very popular in Japan. The group is closing in to 100 members streaming video games everyday.
NIJISANJI’s videos feature 3D characters narrating and reacting to actual gameplay and for some reason they have been resonating really well with Japanese gamers. Some videos that have done well feature VTubers playing Ring Fit Adventure and Pokemon Sword/Shield.
So what happens is they’ll usually appear on the right corner or left corner of the screen and talk about the game. Of course they can move about and show a variety of gestures and facial expressions:
