Dataminers have made an interesting discovery in Splatoon 2 today – a pair of voice chat icons.
The voice chat icons, along with the option “Voice Chat ON/OFF”, was found in a certain part of Splatoon 2. Here’s how the icons look like:
To add on to the discovery, a new parameter called “BitRateMeasureRate” was added to the game’s versus config on June 13, used for the bit rate of voice chats. The same parameter has been added to the main game config file as of Version 4.0.
It’s unclear whether the icons are an indication of future native voice chat support for Splatoon 2, as Splatoon 2 currently supports voice chat through LAN mode.
