As you probably already know, the upcoming Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee games are based on the original Pokemon Yellow games.
Some trainers have been wondering why Eevee was chosen to be the other cover Pokemon for Pokemon Let’s GO – after all, Pikachu makes sense since it was the cover Pokemon for Pokemon Yellow.
Game Freak director Junichi Masuda explained in the latest Nintendo Minute video a few reasons why he wanted Eevee included as the cover Pokemon for Let’s GO. One of the reasons is because the rival uses Eevee in Pokemon Yellow. Another reason is how Eevee’s popularity increased over the decades, and fans requesting to see Eevee (through fan art and messages) propped up as an important Pokemon.
