Work X Work was originally intended for the smartphone market when it started development three years ago, but things changed and the team shifted the game’s work from smartphones to the Nintendo Switch.
According to a recent interview, this course correction was suggested by Tsukasa Masuko, who worked on the game’s sound. Masuko had suggested to the game’s producer, Takuya Yamanaka, who took the suggestion. The game then expanded in scale from just a smartphone game to what it looks like when it releases in Japan on 27 September 2018.
Yamanaka thinks that the game’s art direction is well suited for the Nintendo Switch and hopes that everyone will not regret giving the game a try.
