Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Now Fully Backwards Compatible On Switch 2

Nintendo has fixed the compatibility issues that Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition had on Switch 2.

As of November 11th 2025, the game now runs on Switch 2 the same way it does on Switch 1. The exact issues that game had previously were not identified specifically.

Ever since the console’s release, Nintendo and other developers have been steadily working to ensure Switch 1 games run properly on the Switch 2, as the latter does not support running Switch games natively. They also opened a new website that will allow players to check whether their Switch 1 games run on Switch 2. If you previously had a game that was marked as having issues, it may be worth checking the site from time to time to see if it has been fixed.
