Ys VIII’s Free DLC Temporarily Removed On Nintendo Switch

NIS America has temporarily revoked the free DLC for Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana on the Switch eShop.

The game was originally planned to launch alongside all previously released DLC for free. However, after NIS America released a patch this week, players reported their game froze on the “Checking DLC” screen after downloading the update, and some could not even start the game at all.

A new patch, titled version 1.03, will be pushed out to resolve this issue and bring back the DLC next week. If you’re encountering any issues, here are some workarounds you can try for now:

  • Remove the game card, press the “+” button on the application icon> Manage applications> Remove software and patch data
  • Reinstall the game and download the patches again

Have you encountered this problem? Let us know in the comments.
