RUMOR: Fans Have Apparently Unearthed An F-Zero Twitter Account Registered By Nintendo, As Well [UPDATE]
Earlier this week, we reported on what appeared to be the discovery of an official Mario 35th anniversary Twitter account created and hidden away by Nintendo – which heavily suggested big plans for the Super Mario series this year. Now, it looks like the long beleaguered F-Zero series might be on the company’s mind too!
[UPDATE: It has since come to light that the account posted some decidedly mature content – which throws its legitimacy into question. As various Twitter accounts were recently hacked en-masse however, it is hard to determine if this rumored F-Zero account suffered a similar fate as well. You can read more over here.]
Fans have reportedly unearthed what appears to be an official F-Zero account, also seemingly tucked away by Nintendo. Like the rumored Mario 35th anniversary account, this one features a near-identical “aaaaaaaaaaa” as its name and a similar recovery email (the back segment has enough characters for ‘nintendo.co.jp’).
More interestingly, this account appears to have been created in March 2020 – long before these Mario 35th anniversary account rumors first emerged. Take that as you will.
Even if authentic, however – this account doesn’t necessarily confirm a new title in the series. It’s quite possible that Nintendo is just securing the social media handle ‘FZeroJP’ for some future use.
We’ll report back if or when we hear more. Stay tuned!
