Released in 2019, PlatinumGames’ Astral Chain introduced Switch owners to a new kind of action RPG adventure set in a dystopian future. Well, it looks like the director behind the game is now busy building something new!

In a recent interview with VGC, PlatinumGames’ head producer Atsushi Inaba shared that Astral Chain director Takahisa Taura was now working on some kind of new project. However, Inaba kept his lips sealed about the nature of this project:

VGC: Inaba-san, in our last chat you called Astral Chain’s Takahisa Taura your best director and suggested that he could pick and choose his next project. Has he started working on anything yet?

Inaba: We’ve got to keep the superstar busy! (laughs) He’s working on something, but we can’t say what it is.

VGC: Might we see it announced soon?

Inaba: It would be nice if that happened! (laughs)

We’ll just have to wait to learn about exactly what “superstar” director Takahisa Taura is working on. We’ll report back if we hear more in the future!
