Nintendo Suspend Shipments To Russia Alongside Sony And Microsoft
Bloomberg has reported that Nintendo has suspended shipments to Russia.
According to a spokesperson, Nintendo is suspending business in Russia due to “logistics and payment-handling challenges”, which is similar to its given reasons for suspending payments for the Russian eShop. Although Nintendo did not explicitly mention it, it is likely that this is related to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, which has seen many other firms pulling out of Russia, including Microsoft, who suspended all new sales of products and services in Russia last week.
Alongside Nintendo, Sony also announced that they would be pulling out of Russia. However, the company was more forthright in mentioning the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, calling for peace and stating their intent to donate US$2 million to support humanitarian aid.
