Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Movie “Pre-Quill” Comic Includes Robotnik Story Spearheaded By Jim Carrey
Some interesting new details have surfaced about the “Pre-Quill” tie-in comic being released for the Sonic The Hedgehog 2 film.
As implied, the comic will serve as a prequel to the movie, releasing on March 23rd and consisting of 40 pages and five stories with art by Tracey Yardley, Adam Bryce Thomas, and Evan Stanley. According to writer Kiel Phegley on Twitter, one of these stories will feature Dr. Robotnik, with a plot “spearheaded” by Jim Carrey himself, who plays the mad scientist in the films.
If you need any more incentive to order a copy of Sonic The Hedgehog 2: The Official Movie Pre-Quill comic, the Robotnik story was spearheaded by the absolute G.O.A.T. Mr. @JimCarrey! It's really weird & dope.

In response to a fan on Twitter, Phegley explained that Carrey sent in a one page outline of the story to the team, who then expanded it into the 5 page story that will be included in the book. In the interests of keeping things spoiler free, Phegley did not elaborate further beyond that.
Hard to describe without spoiling anything, and I REALLY want people to enjoy the stories fresh. But basic is that Jim had a concept for Robotnik and sent us (via producer) a rough outline of about a page. I turned it into a 5-page script w dialogue etc, & the art team nailed it.
