Over the course of this weekend, Pokemon Scarlet And Violet players will be challenging a 7 Star Tera Raid which features a Ice Tera Type Inteleon.

Aside from being the only way to obtain Inteleon in the game currently, the 7 Star Tera Raid gives out a great deal of useful rewards such as Vitamins, Rare Candies, and Ability Patches. This makes being able to complete the raid consistently extremely useful. Below you will find some quick tips and tricks for beating this Raid Battle, as discovered and shared by many members of the Pokemon community.

How To Unlock 7-Star Raids

In order to even participate in this raid battle, players will need to progress far enough in the game to qualify for 7-Star raids. This essentially means meeting the following requirements:

• Have completed the story and seen the end credits
• Have completed all Gym Rematches and the Academy Ace Tournament
• Have completed 10 or more raids rated 4* and above.

Once you have completed these steps, the 7-Star Raid will appear both in your overworld as well as on the Tera Raid board.

Inteleon’s Ability and Moves

• The Tera Raid Inteleon has an Ice Tera-Type, meaning that it does more damage with its Ice moves in addition to its Water moves.
• As an Ice Tera-Type, it is weak to Fire, Fighting, and Rock type attacks.
• Inteleon’s Ability is Sniper, which gives it a higher critical hit ratio.
• Inteleon’s notable moves include the following:
  • Blizzard ~ Powerful Ice-Type Special Attack that hits all foes, with a chance to Freeze
  • Snipe Shot ~Powerful Water-Type Special Attack that has a higher critical hit rate
  • Dark Pulse ~ Powerful Dark-Type Special Attack that has a chance to flinch the opponent, preventing them from moving for one turn
  • Tearful Look ~ Status move that lowers the opponent’s attack and and sp.attack stats
  • Mist~ Prevents Inteleon’s stats from being lowered
  • Snowscape ~ Sets up snowy weather, which raises the defense of all Ice-Type Pokemon and makes Blizzard never miss
• Inteleon’s Battle Behaviour
  • At the stat of the battle, Inteleon will use Mist and Snowscape to prevent its stats from being lowered and allow its Blizzard move to always hit.
  • It may use the above combination of moves again after five turns, which is when the two effects wear off.

General Recommendations

• Avoid using Pokemon with a weakness to Ice and Water moves. Fainting in battle reduces the timer, and if it reaches zero before Inteleon is defeated, everyone will fail the raid battle.
• Use Level 100 Pokemon to maximize your chance of successfully completing the raid.
• Use Vitamins to maximize your Pokemon’s key stats to increase your chance of successfully completing the Raid.
• Use Cheers when necessary
  • Go For It! ~ Boosts Attacking stats.
  • Heal Up! ~ Heals HP and cures Status conditions.
• Use moves which reduce Inteleon’s stats
  • Reduce Def or Sp.Def to take it down faster.
  • Reduce Atk or Sp.Atk to prevent it from fainting your Pokemon.
• Use Pokemon with a Fighting Tera-Type to take down its Tera Shield.
• Have Pokemon which can set up weather outside of Snow (e.g. Rain, Sandstorm, Sun) to remove Snowy weather.

Recommended Pokemon

Annihilape

• Ghost/Fighting typing takes neutral damage from all of Inteleon’s moves.
• Ability Defiant boosts its Attack stat if its own stats are lowered, countering the effects of Inteleon’s Tearful Look.
• Recommended Stat Spread
  • Adamant Nature to raise Atk
  • Max out Atk with Protein
  • Max out HP with HPUp
• Recommended Moves:
  • Rage Fist ~ Powerful Physical Ghost-Type attack that does more damage the more times Annihilape is hit, this effect continues to stack even after Annihilape faints and revives.
  • Drain Punch ~ Powerful Physical Fighting-Type attack that also recovers Annihilape’s HP.
  • Bulk Up ~ Status move which raises Annihilape’s Attack and Defense.
  • Sunny Day ~ Sets up Sunny weather, which will cancel the effects of Inteleon’s Snowscape.
• Recommended Items:
  • Shell Bell ~ Recovers HP when attacking.
• Strategy (Attacker)
  • Start by using Sunny Day to cancel the effects of Snowscape
  • Use Drain Punch to deal super-effective damage to Inteleon while also recovering your HP.
  • Once the Tera Orb is charged, ensure your Annihilape is at near full HP before Terastalizing. Fighting-Type is preferred.
  • Continue to use Drain Punch until Inteleon is defeated.

Iron Hands

• Electric/Fighting typing is resistant to all of Inteleon’s moves
• Ability Quark Drive boosts its stats under Electric-Terrain or while holding Booster Energy.
• Recommended Stat Spread
  • Adamant Nature to raise Atk
  • Max out Atk with Protein
  • Max out HP with HPUp.
• Recommended Moves:
  • Drain Punch ~ Powerful Physical Fighting-Type attack that also recovers Iron Hand’s HP.
  • Swords Dance~ Status move which sharply raises Iron Hands’ Attack stat.
  • Belly Drum ~ Status move that maxes out Iron Hands’ Attack stat, but cuts its HP in half.
  • Close Combat~ Powerful Physical Fighting-Type attack that also lowers Iron Hands’ Defense and Sp.Defense stats.
• Recommended Items:
  • Shell Bell ~ Recovers HP when attacking.
  • Covert Cloak~ Protects user from additional effects of moves, such as Blizzard’s freeze chance.
• Strategy (Solo Attacker)
  • Start by using Belly Drum (if Solo) or Swords Dance (if in a Team)
  • Use Drain Punch to deal super-effective damage to Inteleon while also recovering your HP.
  • Once the Tera Orb is charged, ensure your Iron Hands is at near full HP before Terastalizing. Fighting-Type is preferred.
  • Continue to use Drain Punch until Inteleon is defeated. Close Combat can be used if Solo.
  • When in a team, avoid using Belly Drum or Close Combat as it may increase the chance of your Irons Hands fainting.

Perrserker

• Steel typing is resistant to most of Inteleon’s moves.
• Ability Steely Spirit raises the power of all Steel Type moves used by Perrserker or its allies, stacks with other Perrserkers.
• Recommended Stat Spread
  • Adamant Nature to raise Atk
  • Max out Atk with Protein
  • Max out HP with HPUp.
• Recommended Moves:
  • Iron Head ~ Powerful Physical Steel-Type attack with a chance to flinch the opponent.
  • Sunny Day ~ Sets up Sunny weather, which will cancel the effects of Inteleon’s Snowscape.
  • Taunt ~ Stops Inteleon from using status moves such as Mist or Snowscape.
  • Swords Dance~ Status move which sharply raises Perrserker’s Attack stat.
• Recommended Items:
  • Shell Bell ~ Recovers HP when attacking.
  • Choice Band ~ Doubles the power of Physical moves, but prevents the user from using any other moves aside from the one first selected
  • Metal Coat ~ Raises the power of Steel type moves
• Strategy (Perrserker Strategy)
  • Perrserker is the most effective when used in a team Tera Raid where everyone is using Perrserker
    • Matchmake with other Perrserker users here
  • Start by using Sunny Day to cancel the effects of Snowscape
  • Use Defense or Attack cheers to support your team, or use Swords Dance to start building up your Attack power
  • Use Iron Head continuously to lower Inteleon’s HP, it will be boosted by the Steely Spirit abilities of own Perrserker as well as the others.
  • Once the Tera Orb is charged, ensure your Perrserker is at near full HP before Terastalizing to a Steel type.
  • Continue to use Iron Head until Inteleon is defeated.

Samurott

• Water typing is resistant or neutral to most of Inteleon’s moves.
• Ability Shell Armor protects it from critical hits, cancelling the effect of Inteleon’s Sniper ability.
• Recommended Stat Spread
  • Adamant Nature to raise Atk
  • Max out Atk with Protein
  • Max out HP with HPUp.
• Recommended Moves:
  • Smart Strike~ Powerful Physical Steel-Type attack that never misses
  • Taunt ~ Stops Inteleon from using status moves such as Mist or Snowscape.
  • Focus Energy ~ Raises Samurott’s critical hit rate
  • Swords Dance~ Status move which sharply raises Samurott’s Attack stat.
• Recommended Items:
  • Scope Lens ~ Boosts critical hit rate
• Strategy (Attacker)
  • Focus Energy and Swords Dance to boost Samurott’s attacking potential
  • Use Smart Strike to reduce Inteleon’s HP
  • Once the Tera Orb is charged, ensure your Samurott is at near full HP before Terastalizing. Steel type would be preferred.
  • Continue to use Smart Strike until Inteleon is defeated.
