The Pokemon Company has announced a special version of Pokemon Champions for the Switch.

This news was reportedly shared on the official Frankfurt Pokemon Regional Championships event website, stating that a special version of Pokemon Champions for Junior Division players will release for Switch on September 9th 2026. This is because of age restrictions for the current version of Pokemon Champions making it such that Junior Division players are unable to play it in Germany.

Presumably, the restrictions may have something to do with the way Pokemon Champions is monetized as a mobile game, as Germany has among the strictest youth protection regulations for videogames. Stay tuned for more as it comes.
