Japan Recognises Dragon Quest Day
27 May is a special day for most gaming Japanese. It is officially recognised by the Japan Anniversary Association as Dragon Quest Day.
While Dragon Quest may be quite lukewarm at times in the West, it is one of Japan’s largest franchises, with fans taking off days just to get their hands on the game at launch. 27 May happens to be the day that Dragon Quest first launched in Japan back in 1986. It is unknown who requested the Japan Anniversary Association to review and approve the recognition, but it is now official. So go on your RPG exploration when Dragon Quest Day comes again next year.
