Back in 2005, Nintendo had officially revealed that the codename of their next console would be the Nintendo Revolution which caused many fans to speculate on what the word revolution was referring to.
In a December 2005 issue of Edge magazine, many concept designs from fans of what they thought the Nintendo Revolution looked like were published in the issue.

In one of the designs, we can see that a fan predicted a design very similar to the Nintendo Switch with it having a dedicated screen and detached controllers similar to the Joy Con!
