The DS generation of Pokemon games was a huge endeavor for the Pokemon Company which aimed to make Pokemon Diamond and Pearl the Ultimate Pokemon games. There was a high level of accessibility in the design of the games which recognized the DS’s wide audience.
The way players can navigate the over world and interact with the battle menu were all built with accessibility in mind. Even the names of the games have significance that’s not immediately clear with Diamond meaning love and Pearl meaning happiness.
