UPDATE 2: According to reader Elliot, he hasn’t received the code yet, so some of you out there may not have received the code. Unfortunately this is out of Nintendo’s control, so make sure you keep asking Amazon.
UPDATE: The codes have been sent out by email, so make sure you check your inbox. Thanks to Johnny Neo for the tip!
A few weeks ago, we reported about a “Rider Set” DLC pack that was to be distributed to all customers who pre-ordered Monster Hunter Stories from the Amazon US site.
Apparently there’s a situation going on right now, with Amazon customers commenting on the game’s product page that they did not receive a code for the Rider Set. Amazon customer service representatives have no idea what is going on either.
We may have a clue of what’s going on, though. On the original Amazon Video Games tweet, the Amazon Help account told customers that the codes are expected to be sent over the weekend. We’ll keep an eye on the situation as it progresses.

I received the code via email about 4 hours ago (8.30pm 9/9 PST). The instruction are not right though. I have to enter code from the game itself.
Main Menu > DLC > Download Code
4 eggs will be given.
Thanks for the heads up!
I still have not gotten the download code myself. Is there anything Nintendo can do directly? Because Amazon isn't being very helpful.
Hey Elliot, unfortunately no. This completely depends on Amazon. We'll update the article to reflect the situation.
What I did was email Amazon through their contact service regarding MHStories, and I got a reply telling me to wait until Tuesday, in my case, and if I haven't received my code then to send another email to Amazon, and they'd look into it.
That's what amazon keeps telling me...allow 2-3 days for them to get back to me. First time was sunday, then today. They said they will follow up and get back to me regarding the codes.
This is the second time this has happened within the past two weeks and is getting highly annoying. I have a ton of patience, but when you can't tell me why this set of people got a code while the set over here didn't just really sucks.
I'm waiting for the rest of amiibo to come in the mail before I start. I just hope I can get my code before then.
I've had to deal with Amazon Customer Service 4 times so far on this. Each of the first 3 times they promised me that I'd get the code the next day. The day after that, nothing. Finally, on the 4th email from them, they told me that I ordered too early, and that I was not eligible for it. But hey, I could return it for a refund and preorder it from another outlet to get the preorder bonus.
The game is out. That is no longer an option.
Customer disservice at its finest here, Amazon.
Just gona say this is ridiculous "preordering too early" then why bother let us order at all if people decide to make sure they are able to get a copy of a game? There have been games I haven't preordered and missed out on and ended up having to spend 3 times what the game originally costs to play it at a more convenient time.
I don't k ow which side Is worse, Nintendo telling us all contact amazon as the codes where sent; or amazon because they won't offer to help resolve anything.
Actually both I haven't seen yet try to solve this. They got the money in the end. I'm going to be more weary of preordering a game and just try to get it used from now on.
I did receive my code, at 7pm on Saturday September 9th. It was sent less than one hour after Amazon's Customer Service emailed me to expect the code within the next 8 to 12 hours.
I have not received my code at all and ive spoken to 15+ different representatives . ITs completely asanine and deplorable of Amazon to not provide a preorder bonus to all of those who graciously preordered from them and not Bestbuy or Gamestop or directly from nintendo.
they keep giving me the run around and saying theres nothing they can do or that there was not dlc code preorder bonus offered.
