amiibo Card Prices Skyrocket To Over USD150 In Japan After New Horizons’ Release

The Animal Crossing series of amiibo cards have surged in value ever since the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Nintendo Switch.

The reason is because these amiibo cards could do a lot of things in the game, such as inviting your favorite villager to the campsite (and eventually getting them to move in after 3 visits), unlocking a poster of your favorite villager, and summoning them to photo shoots at Photopia.

Some of the most popular amiibo cards are going for 18,000 yen (about USD165) and 14,000 yen (about USD130), while others are going for 1000 yen (USD10) to 8500 yen (USD78):

Please keep in mind that Nintendo will reprint the amiibo cards later this year in Japan, though the cards you get from every pack are random.
