More amiibo Functionality Detailed For Bayonetta 2’s Switch Release

Bayonetta 2 releases in just a little over a month on 16 February 2018 for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo UK has shed a little bit more light on what to expect of amiibo figures in the game.

In a blog post, Nintendo UK has confirmed that compatible amiibo figures will instantly unlock Nintendo themed costumes for Bayonetta to wear during (the newly available) local or online multiplayer Tag Climax mode.

Join forces with a friend – whether across the room or across the world – to fight through waves of enemies in the local and online multiplayer Tag Climax mode. Choose from a range of powerful characters, and give angels and demons a beating that’s as brutal as it is beautiful.

By tapping in compatible amiibo (sold separately), you can instantly unlock a number of Nintendo-themed costumes for Bayonetta to wear, weapons to use and more!

Nintendo UK also said that the Nintendo-themed costumes will also be unlockable during normal gameplay, so those who fear that they may be left out, worry not.
