In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Tom Nook seems to have become a very wealthy raccoon as he owns Nook Inc., which is so rich that they own islands all over the world.
Animal Crossing fan Mikey_hor has tried to estimate Tom Nook’s net worth in Animal Crossing: New Horizons in US dollars, and the results show he’s really rich.
To start estimating Tom Nook’s net worth, Mikey_hor first assumes that 100 bells is worth USD1. The exchange rate is backed up by the cost of the Nintendo Switch in the game, which is 29,980 bells (or about USD299, the MSRP of the system in the real world).
Next, he starts with something simple – the total cost of fully building your house in the game. The total cost comes up to 5,696,000 bells. Assuming the 3.04 million people who have bought the game have fully upgraded their houses, this comes up to 17,258,880,000,000 bells, or USD172,588,800,000, which makes him richer than Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Now it’s time to find out how much the islands Tom Nook owns are. The islands in the game are about 25.42 acres. Assuming it costs the same as a 25 acres large island called Raynards Lake Island & Peninsula in Nova Scotia, then one island in the game is worth USD141,780, so 3.04 million islands would add up to USD429,593,400,000.
In conclusion, Tom Nook would have a net worth of about USD602,182,200,000 or 60,218,220,000,000 bells.
