Earlier this week, we reported that Animal Crossing: New Horizons may have some sort of paid DLC or other content based on its ESRB rating.
Since then, Nintendo’s official site for the game has been updated with a revised ESRB rating, which no longer mentions “in-game purchases” as being part of the game. In its place, the ESRB rating now only says “Comic Mischief”. Why the ESRB rating on the website was changed remains unclear, but it is possible that the original ratings image was a mistake on the part of Nintendo’s website.
Whatever the case, it seems Animal Crossing: New Horizons will not have any paid DLC content after all, barring further clarification from Nintendo. We will be sure to bring any further updates should they become available.
