The NPD group has published the latest video game sales information for the US market in March 2020.
First, NPD confirmed that Animal Crossing: New Horizons was not only the bestselling game of March 2020, but it was also the bestselling Animal Crossing game at launch. In addition, Animal Crossing: New Horizons had the third best launch for a Nintendo platform title – it was only beaten by Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Adding on to the achievements, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has already become the second bestselling game of 2020 in the US, only beaten by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It has also done better than past Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda titles at launch.
