Famitsu has published their sales rankings for Japan for the period between April 13 and April 19, 2020.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which lost its first spot to Final Fantasy VII Remake two weeks ago, has returned to first place last week. The game moved 286,586 copies last week, bringing total lifetime sales to 3.6 million copies.
Famitsu also noted two points about Animal Crossing: New Horizons – first, given the game’s current sales pace, it is expected to surpass Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s 3.65 million copies of lifetime sales. Next, it’s also expected to become the first Nintendo Switch title to sell 4 million copies in Japan in a few weeks time.
The hardware sales for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite last week were 19,273 units and 8601 units respectively, which shouldn’t be surprising given that there were no restocks last week.
