Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games offer a performance and graphics boost to future and previously released Nintendo Switch titles.
As of May 4, 2025, Nintendo has only revealed several Nintendo Switch 2 Edition titles so far – four previously released titles (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Super Mario Party Jamboree, Kirby and the Forgotten Land) and two upcoming titles (Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, Pokemon Legends Z-A).
In this feature, we’ll take a look at some Switch games that have a high chance of getting a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
Xenoblade Chronicles fans have been eating good in the Switch generation with not one but four Xenoblade Chronicles titles. While these games have been praised for their gameplay and storytelling, they suffer from low resolution and frame rate drops on Nintendo Switch.
That is why releasing Nintendo Switch 2 Editions for all four titles in the Xenoblade Chronicles series will rejuvenate interest in the series while Monolith Soft works on their first Switch 2 exclusive Xenoblade Chronicles title.
We can probably expect performance (30 FPS – 120 FPS) and higher quality graphics (1080p – 1440p, HDR) at the very least.
While games in the Bayonetta series don’t struggle as much as those in the Xenoblade Chronicles series on Nintendo Switch, their realistic graphics and art style will greatly benefit from Nintendo Switch 2 Editions.
If Nintendo and PlatinumGames ever decide on making Switch 2 Editions for these titles, we can probably expect performance (30 FPS – 120 FPS) and higher quality graphics (1440p – 4K, HDR) at the very least.
Another PlatinumGames title that is similar to titles in the Bayonetta series is Astral Chain. We can probably expect performance (30 FPS – 120 FPS) and higher quality graphics (1440p – 4K, HDR) at the very least.
Intelligent Systems’ Fire Emblem titles on Nintendo Switch can benefit from performance and graphic improvements, and possibly even new story content exclusive to their Switch 2 Editions.
We can probably expect performance (30 FPS – 120 FPS) and higher quality graphics (1440p – 4K, HDR) at the very least.
