Animal Crossing: New Horizons Sold 1.88 Million Copies In Its First Three Days In Japan

Famitsu has published the first sales data for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which launched March 20, 2020 for Nintendo Switch in Japan.

Sales tracking shows that the game sold 1,880,626 physical copies in its first three days in Japan. This means Animal Crossing: New Horizons has broke two records – becoming the bestselling Nintendo Switch game in Japan in its first three days, and becoming the bestselling Animal Crossing game in Japan at launch.

In addition, sales for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite surged on March 20, 2020 (figures in ten thousand):
