Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update Decimates Bank Interest Rate For Some Players

Today, Nintendo released a major update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which hidden something that wasn’t mentioned in the patch notes.

Some players received a little from Nook Bank stating that their interest rate has decreased. Typically, the maximum interest a player could earn is 99,999 bells. Players have reported that their monthly interest rate has been reduced up to 1/10 of what they usually receive (99,999 bells -> 9,999 bells)

As an “apology” for the interest rate reduction, a Bell Pouch Rug was gifted to these players:

It’s unclear why or how these players were seeing their interest rates decimated, but some believe this could be targeted at players which have a certain number of bells in their bank account, as Nintendo is probably guessing they could have exploited time travel to earn interest quickly.
