Famitsu has published the bestselling games and game consoles in Japan for April 2020 (March 30 – April 26, 2020).
Animal Crossing: New Horizons was the bestselling game of the month, moving 1.28 million copies. Coming up at second place was Final Fantasy VII Remake, with 839,074 copies sold. The Nintendo Switch was also the bestselling console in Japan for the month of April, though it saw its sales decrease due to shortages and production issues caused by the coronavirus.
Nintendo was also the best performing publisher in April 2020 – the company sold 1.62 million games in April. Square Enix came in second with 1.03 million copies.
