Animal Crossing Trademark Applied In Japan

Nintendo has applied a trademark for Animal Crossing’s English name, Animal Crossing, in Japan.

The game is known as Doubutsunomori (Animal’s Forest) in Japan. We’re starting to see increased usage of the English and Japanese names side by side together in Japan, so Nintendo probably wants to play it safe.

The trademark covers all video game consoles, smartphone devices, stuffed dolls, board games, playing cards, and pretty much anything else they could make products for.
